Every day you’re strong, you get stronger.
This is a bit of wisdom from my mom. She was talking about dieting, but this can really apply to anything in life–finishing a 5k, forcing yourself to keep the house clean, or even finding a way to get through a tough holiday.
When you feel like throwing in the towel, press on and remember the stronger you are today, the more motivated you’ll feel tomorrow.
The simple act of pushing yourself to make it through something small reinforces and strengthens your mind, giving you the courage, determination, and ultimately tenacity to get your grit on and do it again — and better — the next time.
But what if you’re not strong enough? Like, at all? Like, to even begin to feel a tinge of incentive? Sometimes we just don’t have motivation. Or strength. Or positive, helpful emotions of any kind. What then?
I read a great article by John Piper on how to rely on strength outside your own. Because I don’t know about you, but I don’t have enough strength to accomplish much of anything by myself. He discusses where you can find strength at any time and during any difficulty.
Here’s to a strong and happy week, readers!
